Terms of Use

1. Who may use PrepPortal

PrepPortal is for students preparing for the exams we cover. If you are under 18, you may use it with the consent of a parent or guardian, and they accept these terms on your behalf. You need a Google account to sign in.

2. Your account

One account per person. Keep control of the Google account you sign in with — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Do not share your account, sell it, or let someone else use it to post.

You can delete your account at any time from within the app or through our account deletion page.

3. What PrepPortal costs

The courses currently open are free to use. We do not charge for anything in the app today, and nothing in these terms obliges you to pay. If that ever changes, we will publish the change before it takes effect and it will not apply retrospectively.

4. Our content

Questions, revision notes, explanations, the app itself and the PrepPortal name and logo are ours or our licensors’. You may use them to study. You may not copy, scrape, republish, resell or redistribute them, bulk-download them, or use them to build or train a competing product or dataset.

Syllabus structures, exam names and paper names belong to the respective examining bodies — ICAI, GSEB, the NTA and others — and are referred to here descriptively. PrepPortal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agent of any of them.

5. What you post

The doubt board is user-generated: your doubts, your answers, your photos. You keep ownership of what you post. Nothing in these terms transfers your copyright to us.

So that we can actually run the board, you grant PrepPortal a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and distribute what you post, within the app and its services, for as long as the post is on the board. The licence exists to show your post to other students and to keep it searchable and readable; it does not let us sell your post as our own content. It ends when the post is removed, except for copies already made as backups or which we must keep by law.

You confirm that what you post is yours to post — that you are not uploading someone else’s copyrighted material, and not reproducing a paid coaching institute’s material or an examining body’s copyrighted question bank.

As explained in the Privacy Policy, deleting your account disassociates your posts from you rather than removing them, because other students may be relying on the answers. Ask us and we will remove specific posts.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use PrepPortal to:

• post anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, harassing or threatening, or anything that targets a person or a group;
• post sexual content, or content that is inappropriate to send to the school students who use this service;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your association with a person, institute or examining body;
• post spam, advertising, referral links, coaching-class promotion or repeated off-topic content;
• leak, solicit or distribute live exam material, leaked papers, or anything intended to help someone cheat in an exam;
• upload another person’s personal information, or a photo of a person, without their consent;
• scrape, crawl or bulk-extract content, or run automated clients against our API beyond normal app use;
• probe, interfere with, overload or attempt to bypass the security, rate limits or access controls of the service;
• game practice, streak or progress mechanics through automation or manipulation.

7. Moderation and enforcement

We moderate the doubt board. We may review, edit, hide, or remove any post, and we may do it without prior notice where content appears to break section 6 or the law. We are not obliged to monitor everything posted, and we do not endorse or vouch for the accuracy of any student answer — check anything that matters against your official study material.

Where these terms are broken we may, proportionately to what happened: remove the content; issue a warning; restrict your ability to post; suspend your account; or terminate it. Serious cases — anything unlawful, anything targeting a person, anything involving leaked exam material, or repeated breach after a warning — can go straight to termination.

If your account is suspended or terminated and you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected] and we will look at it again with a human. To report a post, use the same address with a link or description of it, and we will act within a reasonable time.

8. Availability and changes to the service

PrepPortal is actively being built. Features may change, courses may be added, and parts of the app may be unavailable while we work on them. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may discontinue a feature — we will give notice in the app before removing something you are relying on.

9. No guarantee of results

PrepPortal is a study aid. It does not guarantee an exam result, a rank, or admission anywhere. Our content is prepared carefully but may contain errors and may fall behind a syllabus revision; official examining-body material remains the authority.

10. Liability

To the extent the law allows, PrepPortal is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from exam outcomes, reliance on content posted by other users, or interruptions to the service. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed, and material changes will be notified in the app. Continuing to use PrepPortal after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Gujarat, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
